Jakarta Enterprises to Stabilize Food Price

To stabilize basic needs price, the city administration is going to function all Jakarta regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) that engages in food sector such as Bulog.

Head of City Secretary's Economic Buerau, Sri Haryati disclosed, besides beef, price stabilization will also be done for chicken meat and chili pepper. Thus far, her side continues to finalize the concept for implementing it.

"All enterprises should be functioned to control food price in the city," she expressed, Monday (6/27).

Private Sides Asked to Help Fulfilling Basic Needs

At this time, beef price stabilization is still ongoing. The market's price is higher, because frozen meat still used for KJP holder and cheap market operation.

"In future, we would have the concept to stabilize beef. Its number will be added to suppress price in the market," she stated.

Besides cheap market in 127 locations, Pasar Jaya Khusus on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is also deemed able to suppress price in the market. A number of basic needs are still sold under the market's price.
